MOT has a 36' that is a sister to ours and it sold this weekend.  I lasted about a week at $119.00.  What they sold it for I do not know.  It is still pictured as of an hour ago.

As fuel goes up the smaller buses will follow . The smaller market is hot already.  The actual fuel use may be very small difference but perception is key.  IMHO.  WE were looking for a smaller coach but could not afford  a decent one. The GV came along  and the perceived  durability of the lightly loaded Cat /Allison  won me over.  The fuel price has removed some destinations for us  as logic comes into play along with AirBNB. We've had very nice places to stay about everywhere we've looked .  Anything over around 800miles and we look at  the options that we are lucky to have . YMMV

The only regrets so far with our 97 270 36 vs 295 has been the bus doors on the bays.  I wanted the lightness of the honey oak or maple and our CS floor plan which are both more common to 270s.  Getting put on a medical hold this winter, after moving our daughters family into the house, I would have enjoyed the rare 295 or standard 320 aqua-hot.

My horizon was 7 years.  Personally, I am glad we did not let the perfect find keep us off the road.  When our inspector, Brett, pronounced good bones we rolled.

My criteria was "the smallest coach I could find with a Queen rear bed. A 29 would have worked but never saw one with any thing other than single beds.  I jumped on a Grand Villa 33' because they are few and far between. Regrets: very few.....I wish I had a mechanical Cummins 5.9 and an overdrive trans. Pros: I can get parts at any auto store. Good performance, except mileage, I don't have many mountains to deal with.  I don't full time so less storage not an issue. wish I had a propane genset for less occasional use issues, but have had no problems yet. Wish I had a WTB for more shower room.  I think I will go to a residential refrigerator at some point when I get the solar finished. Otherwise: a Happy Camper

I had countless prospective Foretravel owners mention fuel cost to me during a possible coach purchase when the fuel was much less expensive than now.  A lot of rv'ers are frugal.  Duh.  Sold a lot of 300 OREDS for the fuel saving 10mpg and the bragging rights.

I notice a general RV trend toward vans. To that end, I would prefer a 28ft rig. My wife says 34ft is too big.
That said, when we camp with our three grand daughters, the extra room is welcomed. When / if my wife and and I full-time in 5 years, we may get a van.

I don't believe I'd ever let fuel consumption keep me from enjoying this full-time lifestyle. Of course there is a tipping point but entering our 18th year and haven't seen that point yet. Unless I drive every day, EVERY DAY, the enjoyment and comfort of a mid-sized 36 foot outweighs the fuel decision.

I second this. The bus doors are much more convenient.

There's a  2003 36' U270 for sale in Huntington Beach that has been on the market since before we bought our coach in June, 2016.  It has full body paint, ISL engine, single slide, newer tires and batteries and a 2010 Jeep Liberty 4x4 is included.  They claim that it has been stored inside.  The price has been dropped to $109k.  Has anyone seen this coach?

Might be the pictures from when it was purchased. The 2010 Jeep would have been new at that time. Sat. added during ownership. Ad says by owner.

2003 U270 in Huntington Beach is indeed for sale by private owner.  Motosat was added after the pictures were taken as was new clear front bra, recent replacement of air bags, slide room seal and major service.  ALL service records are available. The pictures were taken at an indoor storage facility in Corona, CA.  The ad is absolutely correct and the pictures do represent the condition of the coach today; interior and exterior!  It has always been stored indoors and is beautiful!  Please come look; I would be delighted to show the coach anytime and it is still for sale.
