Jeep JK towing question - front bumper

For those of you that are flat towing their Jeep JK -

I would like to replace our front bumper with one that has a greater entry angle and a winch.  Have contacted Roadmaster and a couple of aftermarket bumper companies but have heard nothing in return.

Am wondering if any of you have replaced their front bumper with one that allows the base plates to be attached to the frame rails?

Looks like most tow bar mounting plates are welded to the bumper. 

BTW - do not wish to discuss the pros and cons of welding.

Scott haven't replace my front bumper yet. I would imagine that if one where to use a winch mount bumper it would be plenty strong for towing as would have to be bolted through the frame. You may also try asking the question on Wranglerforum.com.

I have an aftermarket bumper with a winch..

After about 6 uses.. I had to weld.. reinforce the structure and now it is good.. not sure which part of the welding you don't want to talk about ? Buy the wrong bumper and you will have a whole new topic of discussion and I assure you WELDING will be in the title and the topic .

I second Rock Hard 4x4! Great people and products. I have their front and rear bumper. The front bumper I have has the recess section for the winch which allows it to sit lower so you have increased air flow over top of winch.

Putting a rock hard on m new Jeep this week and a10k winch.  There are tabs you can have bolted on so no tow bracket hanging down.

I had a Ranch Hand bumper installed on my jeep and then had a local welding shop weld the pulls for a Roadmaster tow bar.  It was cheaper to do this than have  a Roadmaster hitch installed on the jeep.  Been happy with it for about 7 years now.
